The air is crisp, and the eerie silence fills me with anticipation of what is to come this very morning. I watch closely, fixated on the smallest details around me as I watch beads of water slowly roll down the long strands of red oat grass beside me.
Last nights rainfall still lingers, but as the african sun begins to kiss the horizon, the painterly hues scatter across the vast sky, casting a soft metallic glow across the Masai Mara plains.
Redjusting my binoculars, I look out into the distance, scanning each and every single strand of grass, and peering up towards every single tree, all in hope of seeing him once again.
A few moments pass before I witness the rise of Olopono. Emerging from the dense Acacia and riverine forest with grace, his confidence is awe-inspiring, as he begins the long journey home across the Musiara swamp.
