In October of 2025, Makanyi hired me to update their brand film. The scope of the project was to create two films, one would be filmed in October 2025, whilst the second film would be filmed the following year, February of 2026.

The first film ” A Place of Longing ” would become a showcase film focused on a cinematographers perspective of the lodge and the Timbavati reserve. With a script and voiceover driving the main essence of the film, the idea was to create a nostalgic feeling for wild places, whilst connecting the viewer deeply to nature.
